I was running some old tires, just getting comfortable in the kart. I adjusted the pedals and seat and finalized the engine install. Played with carburetor settings and even gearing. I tried setting the gear tall enough that I was only using 5 of the 6 gears. I took a lot of shifting out of the lap, but I think it is ultimately slower. It was awfully consistent, though.
Here is a short clip of two laps after I got the camera on and functioning. The 1st set of "charged" batteries I put in the recorder died in 30 seconds (as I entered the track). Sweet.

Great vid, and nice to see your lines while mine are still fresh in my mind.
I was out with my Rotax last Sunday, and got there just as the weather rolled in. Pretty much everyone packed up, but I went out in a light drizzle on tires that are entering their 4th season (bought the kart in 12/06 and still haven't changed tires). Something was funky with my carb and I couldn't get over 12.5k on the straight, but I still managed about 4 consecutive laps between 58.3 and 58.5. Hey, anything under a minute makes me happy, but one of these days I need to put on new rubber and see what I can do as the track gets grippy during a race weekend.
